JOB DESCRIPTION Job Summary This position is responsible for deploying Core Network configurations as well as troubleshooting Core and CPE issues in all regions of the Commercial Services network. The Core Engineer 3 will resolve all first-contact issues and escalations in an organized and timely fashion. This position requires a strong ability to troubleshoot as well as provide resolution and status updates in accordance with established practices and procedures. The Core Engineer 3 is required to contribute their in-depth experience and knowledge to cross-functional team efforts and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. The Core Engineer 3 will be capable of determining their own work priorities. Job Description Core Responsibilities Demonstrate proficiency in all Comcast Business Metro-E service and equipment types. Validate and implement core router configurations for new Metro Ethernet service Validate, implement, and troubleshoot new BGP sessions with external customers. Review and understand customer expectations during customer calls. Troubleshoot and resolve Core and CPE issues escalated from the Test & Turn up team. Validate and implement hot cuts, to include all core and CPE work. Test and turn-up new circuits in a production commercial services environment, in accordance with Comcast practices. Recommend new practices and procedures, as necessary. When interfacing with customers, represent Comcast as a Subject Matter Expert in commercial product offerings. Coordinate the implementation of new features, technologies, upgrades, and patches in a production environment. Escalate issues in a timely manner. Open and update service tickets in database/tracking system. Provide expertise, guidance, and technical training to junior team members. Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules, as necessary. Ability to work unsupervised. Industry Specific Certification preferred i.e. MEF, CCNA or JNCIA Experience working with TTS Remedy, CSG, Century, ORION, and CCOM. Ability to handle both internal and external difficult customer interactions while providing excellent customer service. Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure. Display reliability and an excellent attendance record. Ability to maintain a positive attitude, even in difficult situations. Ability to effectively communicate results of troubleshooting in an accurate and concise manner. Strong ability to pay attention to detail. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Relevant Work Experience 5-7 Years Salary: Pay Range: $82,807.68 - $124,211.52 Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
