WHAT YOU'LL DO
The C&S Practice’s strong growth is grounded in our ability to attract, develop, deploy and retain top talent from inside and outside of BCG. The Global People Director plays a critically important role in developing and implementing a People strategy and corresponding set of activities, tools and processes that help us deliver against this ambition. He/she collaborates with the C&S virtual systems, BCG systems/regions and BCG functions (L&D, Recruiting, Career Development, Marketing, Finance etc.) to ensure that our people plan and priorities become reality.
More specifically
- Act as a business partner to our C&S Virtual Systems, driving to best practice adoption and process harmonization wherever possible
- Oversee global C&S resource planning/progress tracking:
- Work with the C&S Systems, Regions and Finance to define resource plans, including a view on skill sets needed
- Track progress against plan and raise key issues / solutions to leadership
- Drive capability gap analysis and scaling efforts (incl. capability assessments in M&A context, link to C&S offer/topics, link to L&D…)
- Establish visibility on the C&S practitioner cadre’s capabilities… and gaps
- Understand business and upskilling needs for C&S consultants (and BCG overall)
- Help drive the overall capabilities scale-up strategy with PA Leadership and Regions
- Work with Global L&D colleagues to ensure development and refinement/expansion of the C&S L&D curriculum
- Create conditions for successful talent integration (in systems, CD processes, etc.)
- Help develop the onboarding and integration strategy/ approach with the regions. Support regions in cross-regional sharing
- Help drive overall culture and happiness of the C&S PA members – creatively developing initiatives to build the “spirit” and “energy” of the C&S PA/Systems
- Work with global and regional C&S teams and “Green teams” to drive engagement and affiliation
- Monitor and proactively suggest resolutions to key people issue (e.g. in People Survey)
- Support DE&I efforts
- Work closely with Recruiting and Marketing teams to ensure we attract talent through attractive internal communication and strengthen our employer brand externally
- Drive additional, people-related projects, e.g
- Develop and manage People “real-time” dashboards/reports to inform LT discussions
- Manage ongoing and ad hoc people analysis (ego global PA People Survey results)
- Explore how to adapt the operating model towards a net-zero PA from a people perspective
- Lead talent-related, cross-functional projects/initiatives
- Manage the overall mobility and secondment strategy; support the global PA and regions in getting the resources needed (e.g., secondments to Lighthouse clients, securing CEO Ambassador resources, cross-regional transfer strategy, etc.)

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
- A university degree and preferably an advanced degree (e.g., Master, MBA, JD, MD, PhD)
- 10+ years of relevant work experience; experience in a senior People/Talent Mgt role with a focus on people development preferred
- Full suite of core consulting skills (analytics, content creation/story-lining, stakeholder engagement, project management, prioritization, staying calm under pressure …)
- Ability to multi-task effectively, driving to results across a broad spectrum of responsibilities
- Highly collaborative work style; ability to team across functions, regions, and levels
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, global, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment
- Creative and innovative thinking – ability to drive change and bring new ideas and thinking
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence senior audiences
- A passion for Climate & Sustainability topics and an interest in expanding your expertise (deep C&S expertise not a starting condition)
- A high-energy personality and approachable and positive style
- Fluent in Outlook, Trello, Slack, PowerPoint, and Excel
YOU'LL WORK WITH
Your key stakeholders in this role are the Global People Leader (Roland Haslehner), the Practice Management Executive Director (Bettina Schönenberger) the C&S System Business Directors and their respective teams, as well as the broader C&S leadership team. You will regularly intersect with BCG’s People, Finance and Marketing functions.
